Lady Gaga subliminally sets our makeup and fashion trends

Lady Gaga is a trendsetter. 'No she's not! She's too outrageous!'.
Well, have you had the desire to dye your hair a pastel colour, specifically mint green? Or have you bought a pastel coloured sweater, shirt or jeans? In her video
Marry The Night: The Prelude Pathétique, she predicted that mint was going to be the colour of Spring 2012 "and I also believe that mint will be very big in fashion next Spring." And wow, we went on a mint crazy in 2012, but did we attribute it to Lady Gaga?

In saying that, let's see what Lady Gaga trend will continue onto 2013?
I believe it will be brown lipstick, brown or natural eyeshadows with strong brows. Did you follow Lady Gaga's twitter photos in 2012? Or analyse her makeup at events?

They all had a muted red or brown lip, overdrawn.

Strong liquid eyeliner, above the eye only.

Filled in brows and slightly exaggerated.

That's it, I think that's the biggest 2013 trend. I'm already noticing YouTube makeup gurus doing tutorials on brown eye looks and 'natural' looks with a mix of shimmer and matte brown shadows. I've already moved my pink lipsticks aside and dusting off my brown lipliners and bought a brown NYX lipstick on my trip to Jakarta.

And yes, I'm a HUGE Lady Gaga fan.

You can wear the daggiest outfit in the rain, but you'll stand out with these rain boots and all the other ladies wearing flats and soggy heels will be green with envy!

F&S List - 2012's Most Searched Fashion Brands

Now I wouldn't always rely on Bing for my search data, but they've released the top searched designer brands and the ultimate winner was Michael Kors, which is interesting and not at the same time. Michael Kors is a true American, high quality brand that isn't as pricy as Louis Vuitton, but a lot of their pieces are still very affordable for the average woman (or man). Tory Burch is an interesting contender as well, it shows that humble beginnings can definitely get you up the ranks with the big players. A mixture of American and European brands show that they still run the market, or are they the only ones using Bing? ;)

2012's Most Searched Fashion Brands

F&S Picks from H&M Lookbook Spring 2013

Who doesn't love H&M? Affordable fashion in the latest trends. I remember the first time I entered H&M in London on Oxford Street and was mesmerized at all the pretty clothes and stomped on at the same time as there were hundreds of women all around me fishing for the next great steal. After that I had to visit every H&M in every city I visit - Rome, Florence, Paris, Tokyo, LA, San Fransisco, New York..  and I always, ALWAYS find something to buy. Here we present the Spring/Summer range for 2013 which lucky for us, we can try out these trends now in Australia. Sham chose her favourite pieces for you to enjoy.

Trends to try:

Slouchy bling shorts
