IMATS Sydney 2013

There was a moment when I was sitting among the crowd, watching the M.A.C trend talk, that I realise I was in makeup heaven. It's so much different to watching it on YouTube, you get so much more advice and tips when you're actually watching a pro in action. That was my favourite moment of today. What did I buy? Well, an Embryolisse anti ageing cream, yes, it's time to start, and seeing as the French have such great skin, I thought I'd try it. About 6 brushes, a mixture of blending, duo (perfect for concealer!), contour and flat top kabuki (heaven to apply foundation). Last, I got an OCC Lip Tar in Lydia. I am ridiculously impressed by the OCC Lip Tar, the consistency is amazing, one tube will probably last 20 years. I think I'm going to start a collection...

Here are some photographs I took..

Lookbook: Black + Leather

Fadhila styled in:

Jacket purchased overseas at a market | H&M black button down singlet | Zara pleated skirt | Alexander Wang shoes

Sham styled in:
Zara combination Jacket | Witchery button down shirt | PU leather look skirt | Michael Kors studded heels

Simulating Leather Look
Leather is a definitive range of clothing for women and is a timeless piece.
In a modern pop culture world, fabrics simulating leather such as polyurethane or PVC are alternatives used for one that is in pursuit of buying economically or for the need of a vegan lifestyle.
Regardless, the needs of the wearer is the overall ensemble as it develops the character identity you want to show.

NEW VIDEO: How to Contour and Highlight

*Description below from the video info bar

Whether you want your face to look slimmer, or give a more 'sculpted' look, contouring and highlighting is definitely your friend. It's blown up recently, probably because it's flattering on everybody (ahem, and because of the Kardashians).

I'm a 'shortcut' kind of girl and like quick ways of doing things, so I rely on a darker powder to sculpt as opposed to creams or darker foundations which take more time to blend. My tip is to buy a pressed powder about 3 shades darker than your skin tone, instead of bronzers which end up having some shimmer or turn out too orange! In terms of brushes, it can be anything! Don't feel restricted to just angled brushes, any blush or powder brush will be fine.

Highlighting suits night time as it reflects the light so beautifully, and can seen little bit too much for day, but totally rock it with a lighter powder (not as shimmery) for day time if you want!

I hope you enjoy my tutorials! I want to keep it short and simple for the busy ladies out there!

Please let me know what other 'How to' tutorials you'd like to see!

I'm a fan of Maiden

That is all.

Ok maybe not. I'm a fan of Maie of Maiden Threads. I've known her since 2008 from mutual friends and have followed her blog from a distance for almost 5 years, admiring her empire slowly grow. Seeing her at her exhibition 'Friends of Maiden' completely blew my mind and I feel she has huge potential to be one of Australia's best designers. She's the kindest, nicest, friendliest girl (she designed my bridesmaids dresses!), with so much style, I just, I mean, look at her trousers! Like her Facebook page, and follow her blog, I feel so blessed to know another creative soul in Maie.

New Video: Nude Lips

Nude lips are hard for me, well not hard, just more labour intensive because my lips are a light pink, and putting a nude lipstick by itself makes me look SO washed out.

So I'm showing you my Nude lipstick/gloss collection and my SECRET WEAPON to making the nude lipstick stand out. Ok maybe not so secret... pretty easy actually.

I'm testing drugstore to high end products, all with such great formula and consistency.

Products used:

+ Make Up For Ever - 3C
+ Revlon Lip Butter - 095 Creme Brulee
+ Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick - Shade 14
+ MAC Satin Lipstick - Cherish
+ MAC Lipglass - Prrr

Beauty Bookmarks Week 2 - 48.28 minutes of Beauty and Fashion Goodness

1. Victoria Beckham Fall 2013

As a massive Spice Girls fan, I had to watch this video to see what Victoria Beckham's style is evolving into. Her pieces (and choice in music) were so simple yet complicated at the same time. It makes you want to put a belt on all your outfits! The different skirt slit may be a new trend we'll see soon...

2. Favorite Season for Style

Have you heard of WhoWhatWear? Well I think it may be your new favourite site. Think online magazine constantly constantly constantly updated with high quality looks and advice. Here they talk about style and great investment pieces, and a whole lotta fashion advice. LOVE.

I've always wanted to know how to get the Beyonce glow. What else can I say, it's super duper easy. Remember to contour your nose! Side note: Do you think Beyonce's nose has gotten thinner and thinner? Side note again: Tanya is the girlfriend of the dude below...

Husband wanted to know how to get Justin Timberlake hair, that's all I'm saying. Share this with your man if you want him to look like Beckham, or Timberlake... or Mr Shu from Glee...

5. The Best Foundation For Your Skin

It's hard enough trying to find a foundation is a store with hideous artificial light, let alone finding the right one for our skin type. The Pixiwoo ladies make it so much easier. Expect a speedy review of all the foundations for your skin type - drugstore and high end. I love these really quick advice videos.

Judy makes a great reporter! I love seeing backstage footage, and seeing the madness behind the catwalk.

I love how Bubz took advantage of Valentine's Day (for those alone or not alone) and made a video on pampering. Pampering, we all need it, and all love it.

8. Glee Star Lea Michele Does Some LA Shopping

I love this series, I love how Aussie Laura Brown from HelloStyle interviews these mega stars and has so much fun doing it! I love Glee, so naturally I love Lea. She's so down to earth and refuses to sing! Hah!

So this is from the very famous, very incredible, very stylish, very amazing team at Find and Steal.. ahem. OUR FIRST VIDEO!!! Expect more 1 minute-ish videos, because girl, I gots no more time than that!

Enjoy Week 2! Take care kids!

Our first F&S Video! 3 Ways to tie a Headscarf

Behold our first Find & Steal video!

Yesterday, myself and Haiina were hanging out at Sham's house, and I thought, I have a scarf expert with me, show me some looks! So we filmed 2 looks, and then I tried it myself and made another look!  This is perfect for those bad hair days, or days you can't be bothered styling, which is me when I wake up late for work!

It works best with stretchy, less smooth scarves so they can stay in place when tied up. Hope you enjoy the video! Please like or subscribe to our channel for more!

Welcome to Beauty Bookmarks! Week 1

Welcome to the first of our weekly Beauty Bookmarks!
My favourite hobby is watching beauty and fashion videos on YouTube, and I'd like to share my weekly favourites with you! Beauty Bookmarks is a new concept which I hope you'll enjoy following and watching as much as I do!

There are 2 ways to watch our specially curated playlists:

1. View playlist here and subscribe to our channel!

1. Rihanna Rolling Stone Cover Makeup Tutorial by MakeupByLeinaBaaaby
What I love about this tutorial is that it's a twist on a natural makeup look. Rihanna looks gorgeous on the cover of Rolling Stone and all it took was double fake eyelashes! Ok maybe a bit more...

2. DIY Makeup Brushes - Wanderlust by FAWNinc
If you watch halfway, you'll see a new way of decorating your brushes! Such an ingenius idea! Also, teaches us girls if you see a hole in the market (in this case makeup store in Germany), fill it!

3. Pony Tail Rope Braid by LuxyHair
I have ALWAYS wanted to know how to do this braid, and the secret all along was... just watch the video!

If you don't have a crease, rock this instead. So easy, so simple.
